Tutorial Sites
Monday, September 8th, 2008 | Resources
Formal programming lessons are not a priority for Cymon’s Games. The reasons for this are that first of all running the site is enough for one person. The second is that quite frankly, there are already plenty of tutorials out there. So in addition to the programming communities I’ve already mentioned here are a few sites that boast programming tutorials you may want to start with:
- http://www.xoax.net/ - This one came to my attention with a success story I ran across.
- C Programming Boards - Google’s #1, and not undeserved.
- CPlusPlus Chanel on YouTube - This one got my attention a while back.
Now that’s not all. Not by a long shot. Just search Google or Youtube and you’ll see why programming tutorials is not something I feel I need to take my time putting together.
If you know of any other’s or have a favorate please comment below.

Another comment reminded me that I forgot to something. Occasionally all you need is something to reference, and here’s an excellent resource I’ve been using for years:
http://www.digilife.be/quickreferences/quickrefs.htm
They’ve got excellent reference cards for almost everything you’ll ever need. I think the one for C is so good that I’ve actually contacted the author, Joseph H. Silverman, and asked if I could include the card in my book.

Networking. That’s one thing that may not show up on the site for a while since I’ve never seen good cross platform code for pulling it off.
However, in windows this tutorial may be a good start.
