Put on your hard hat…

I had a weekend away and a chance to show the site to a family member. That’s when I realized how un-user friendly the site is. So for the next couple of days I’m going to be re-vamping the site, looking to add new features and make old ones easier to use. The layout of the programs will change, as well as a dedicated effort to straighten out some bugs introduced by my hack job fiddling with wordpress.
My problem is, as a programmer, I want the site to be perfect. I’m seriously fighting the urge to go back and change everything I’ve done so far, essentially rebooting the site.
I’m also considering making the downloadable version of the programs/games somewhat different from the version shown, just so that they’re a little more user friendly. Adding things like play again menus and screen clear calls when in the code listed these aren’t there. On the one hand I don’t feel it would be “fair” to do that, but on the other hand I want people to enjoy the programs on their own, even if they’re not willing to program… yet.
EDIT : Just browsing the stats, Cymon’s Games got over 1000 unique visitors in the month of March, but not quite 2000 total hits. That means people are coming in, but aren’t staying so much. Still, broke the M in the third month. (Nobody tell me they’re all bots. I know.)
