Programming Math
Monday, June 30th, 2008 | Resources
This will be the first in what will hopefully be a long line of programming resources. I ran into this on YouTube, kinda by random. It moves a bit fast and can be hard to follow, but that’s YouTube’s 10 minute restriction for you. I feel it would benefit from a worksheet you can use to follow along, but I love the concepts it presents and you can always press pause.
Video after the jump.
If you’re new to programming this video will definitely provide the background you need in translating the math you know into the math you’ll be using when programming. The creator of the video, Christopher aka Cosmologicon, has assumed me that more videos are coming. I’ve subscribed to his channel and eagerly await the next installment.

Wow, found an even better one.
While Khan is normally associated with angered screams of an overly… dramatic starship captain, Khan Academy does teaching basic math (through pre-calc) right. When I was a middle school teacher I would have loved these. The only problem is getting someone to sit through these. Then again, if you’re an adult these could be excellent refresher courses.
