Programming Communities
Tuesday, June 24th, 2008 | Resources
When I first learned to program it was a pretty solitary event and it was slow going. But when I took a class and had others to bounce ideas off of I found myself effortlessly learning more than I ever did on my own. And while I want to encourage chatter on this site it may be in your best interest if I tell you where I go when I’m stuck:
- The fine people at CProgramming.com have provided tutorials on their site as well as an active community forum focused on the C/C++ language.
- ProgrammersHeaven has support forums for many languages, not just C/C++, and their C/C++ forums are a bit slower paced.
- GameDev.net, on the other hand, has a beginner’s forum that moves at a furious pace, but their members tend to be extremely knowledgeable.
I might mention that if you see someone named ‘guesst’ on these forums, that’s probably me.
