Getting the Page to Peel
Tuesday, June 17th, 2008 | News
In order to draw more people to the vision and resources I’ve put on the About page, which I feel is an excellent starting point for anyone coming into the site, I wanted to add a page peel. Also, page peels are just cool. Unfortunately I had some trouble setting it up. Near as I could tell I did everything right, but admittedly javascript is a bit of a week point for me. So I appealed to a relative of mine, Dave, who’s better at this sort of thing than I am, and then I got it working.
Now I want to mention this because Dave didn’t actually help me with solve problem. I solved it myself. But somehow I couldn’t solve it until I contacted him. I had been working on this problem for a while and actually tried to contact Dave before, only I didn’t have the right e-mail address and he didn’t get my request for help. But as soon as I got the correct e-mail address and Dave did get my request I solved the problem without any further input from him. This is actually a pretty commonplace occurrence for me. I struggle with a problem for a while, be it a minute, an hour, or a day. But the moment I ask for help and get a “Yeah, wha’cha need?” my next communication is “Never mind, I got it.” Like the very act of opening the lines of communication opens up a psychic link from their knowledge base to mine and I just pluck what I need out. Tho this is the first time this has happened over e-mail.
So as you can see there’s a groovy little page peel in the corner of the site that directs folks to the about page. It’s gonna be a busy week. Stay tuned.
